An independent continuation of the show "Næturvaktin" which took Iceland by storm last fall and became the most popular TV material in the history of the icelandic TV station Stöð2.

In "Dagvaktin" we again visit the three main characters, Georg Bjarnfreðarson, Ólafur Ragnar and Daníel. After losing their jobs before the trip to Sweden they went separate ways. But by mere chance, their paths cross again in the beginning of this new series in the most unlikely place of all, Hotel Bjarkarlundur, a remote hotel far out in the west of Iceland. There they work together and have now got a new boss, the beefy and firm Gugga, played by Ólafía Hrönn Jónsdóttir.

Like "Næturvaktin", "Dagvaktin" is mainly a comedy but this time though we have more drama between the main characters and the air is heavier.
